"And this what happens when the followers of Christ got bars..."
Man, shout-out to Jered Sanders for this new "Hero" record that just released earlier today via DJBooth.net. Featuring bouncy, symphonic production by Analogic, this is the first single from their forthcoming project entitled Daylight Savings Time.
I was blessed to hear this song about a month ago and was blown away by the new direction that Jered is embarking upon. I've grown familiar with his lyrical abilities and natural gifts as a vocalist, but there seems to be a renewed sense of focus and passion in his words that stand out to me. Over the past couple of months, he's stamped his own genre of music, coined #HopeHop and he's also become more forthright about his faith as a Christian man that wants to make substantial music for people of all creeds. I see this as a great revelation in music for believers to not have to feel isolated when they turn off 'secular' music for tunes that spotlight faith. Adversely, those that may not be ready to do the same can still listen to artists like Jered that choose not to preach lyrically, yet you know where he stands regardless.
I'm personally excited to hear what the rest of Daylight Savings Time will sound like. If "Hero" is any indication of what's to come, you can bet that I'll be fully tuned in for all upcoming releases. Follow Jered Sanders on Twitter and Instagram for more updates.
